Karen provides expert strategic and operational advice and services to public and private health and aged care organisations in a range of areas across Australia, both in metropolitan and rural, public and private, not-for-profit, indigenous and ethno specific services. As a member of the Department of Health and Ageing Panel of expert Administrators and Advisor Nurse for sanctioned aged care facilities, Karen has managed several sanctioned homes to full compliance and assisted appointed receivers and administrators. Karen’s success is based on a sound understanding of responsive quality systems. Her work practices focus on strategic and risk management challenges for organisations and the importance of rigorous financial management and governance frameworks. Karen's strengths include the ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate systems and provide training for organisation-wide management systems. Karen has particular experience in developing strategic directions to maximise and implement organisational change programs and add value to new business strategies. Gaby has over 20 years experience in clinical practice improvement and managment. Her skills and experience include roles in senior aged care management, quality and clinical risk management, and accreditation in the acute, mental health and aged care sectors. As a senior consultant for Erigo, Gaby adds value to client organisations by providing strategic compliance and improvement advice. Gaby’s focus and commitment to achieving better health outcomes for residents and consumers complements her ability to analyse and identify opportunities to improve orgnaisational systems and performance. Gaby’s achievements include providing leadership and strategic direction on quality and clinical governance in both aged care and acute mental health settings. These initiatives have resulted in improved clinical management and resident/client safety. Her strengths are working with people, leading and managing change, motivating and teaching staff and advocating for better mental health and well-being outcomes for residents and consumers. As a previous Executive Care Manager and Director of Nursing, Gaby is committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement. Sara has been working in the health care sector for over 27 years as a registered nurse division 1 in a variety of roles including clinical, management, in-service clinical training, human resource management and business development. Sara brings to Erigo extensive experience in training in both the acute and aged care sectors and has facilitated group sessions on EQuIP. Sara is committed to empowering staff through education and training and this is a feature of her work at Erigo. With a Masters in Business Management, together with completion of the aged care quality assessor course, Sara adds significant skills and knowledge of health management systems and accreditation frameworks to the Erigo team. Angela has a background in occupational health and safety, quality, management and education. She has held senior positions in the public sector and was a founding staff member of the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency in Victoria. As a former Principal Assessor, Angela brings to Erigo extensive knowledge and experience in interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards, legislation, continuous improvement and quality systems. Angela adds a unique component to the Erigo team as a specialist in OHS in aged care. Angela’s expertise was acknowledged in her role in the working party for the development and subsequent publication of the Work safe document, ‘Transferring People Safely’. Angela has managed hundreds of accreditation audits and support contacts across Victoria. She has provided specialist change advice and training to aged care homes on the management of systems to ensure compliance with the standards including legislative compliance, quality and risk management, policy implementation, practice enhancement and improvement advice. Angela has exceptional project management and communication skills with a strong commitment to quality improvement principles. Christine brings to Erigo a raft of skills and expertise from the health care sector and government organisations. She has proven skills in policy development, and quality and risk management. Her knowledge and skills have been gained from a varied career in health management, and most recently consultancy services, support and advice provided to organisations in Australia and overseas. With expertise in accreditation frameworks across the health care sectors, Christine has successfully assisted residential aged care services, retirement villages and mental health services to achieve their accreditation objectives. Christine’s strengths are her capacity to analyse and evaluate data and develop practical strategies that produce measurable deliverables and improve service delivery. Her skills in reviewing and maximising aged care funding systems are enhanced by her understanding of the challenges and benefits of providing resident-centred care. Her ability to harness and enhance an organisation’s strengths through her highly developed communication and negotiation skills enable her to liaise and collaborate closely with all stakeholders.
